WORKSHOPS

Three frameworks. Taken further.

A keynote gives your people a moment. A workshop gives them an outcome. Same three frameworks as the keynotes (The Real YOU, Power Branding: People Edition, Business as UNusual) built around facilitated exercises, individual work, and group share-back, so people leave having actually done the thing, not just heard about it.

Why this isn’t just a longer keynote

Richard isn’t just a speaker. He’s a facilitator, and that’s a different skill.

Even Richard’s keynotes are unusually interactive: whiteboard, live mapping, audience participation. A workshop is what happens when that instinct gets the room and the time it actually needs. Richard learned facilitation the hard way, as a head of strategy inside major ad agencies: capturing what a room is really saying, organising it in real time, and moving the group forward together rather than just presenting at them. Not every speaker wants to do this; a lot of people would rather just speak. Richard would rather get in the trenches with you.

“It’s like riding a bike. You can talk to someone about how to ride a bike for an hour and they still can’t ride a bike. But give them the actual experience, and it’s something they never forget. That’s how I set up everything I do: videos, interaction, massive audience participation. It naturally extends into a workshop.”

01 SIGNATURE WORKSHOP · BIP STAGE 01 — DISCOVERY

The Real YOU — Workshop

The keynote gets a room thinking about who they are underneath the job title. The workshop gets every single person in the room to actually do that work, on paper, and leave with something written down. In a half-day format, Richard can take a smaller group much deeper than the keynote’s 90 minutes allows: individual reflection, then sharing back in groups, then refining. One distinctive format Richard runs inside this workshop: a Personal Brand Hot Seat, where one volunteer works through their own discovery live, step by step, in front of the room, while everyone else works their own in parallel; watching the process happen in real time sharpens everyone else’s thinking too.

Outcome
Each participant leaves with their own identity statement, not just the audience’s collective takeaway, but their individual one.
Best for
Leadership offsites, smaller team intensives, culture days where you want depth over breadth.
Format
Half-day. Built for groups where individual work and share-back are practical.

Richard delivering a Power Branding workshop
02 CORPORATE WORKSHOP · BIP STAGE 04 — LAUNCH

Power Branding: People Edition — Workshop

This is the staff-facing version of the work Richard does inside a full Brand Consulting engagement’s Launch phase, scaled down to a single facilitated day instead of a multi-month rollout. Teams work through what behaviours need to start, stop, and continue to make your stated values real: the same exercise behind QBE’s global culture rollout, run for your team specifically. Groups work their own values, then come back and present what they found.

Outcome
A working set of team-specific behaviours, owned by the people in the room, not handed down by leadership.
Best for
HR, L&D, People & Culture teams who want the Power Branding thinking translated into something their people actually do, not just hear.
Format
Half to Full-day.

Richard leading a Business as UNusual workshop
03 CHANGE & INNOVATION WORKSHOP · BIP STAGE 02 — STRATEGY

Business as UNusual — Workshop

Takes the keynote’s core idea, identity as the anchor through disruption, and adds Richard’s creativity work: tackling “I’m not creative,” one of the most common things he hears in a room, and one of the biggest blockers to a team actually adapting well. Teams work through their own change or growth scenario using the same identity-first thinking Richard uses with full organisations going through a rebrand or restructure.

Outcome
A practical anchor point your team can return to mid-change, plus a working answer to the “I’m not creative” block.
Best for
Teams mid-transformation, restructure, or rapid growth.
Format
Half- to full-day.

Keynote vs. Workshop

Same thinking. Different depth.

Keynote

45–90 minutes. One talk, one room, one outcome. Includes a pre-event briefing, customising his content for your specific needs, and a follow-up summary for your team.

See the keynotes →

Workshop

Half-day to full-day. Built around Richard’s BIP Model, then tailored to your organisation’s specific challenges, objectives and priorities. Combines facilitated exercises, individual work and group discussion to help teams apply the thinking directly to their own business. More depth. More discussion. More practical application.

Who Books a Workshop

The gap between a keynote and a full engagement.

A keynote moves a room for an hour. A full Brand Consulting engagement moves an organisation over months. A workshop sits between the two: for teams who want to actually do the work together, not just hear about it, without committing to a full consulting programme. It’s a strong fit for HR and L&D teams building a leadership offsite, and for mid-size to enterprise teams who want a genuine outcome from a single day, not just an energising hour.
